The Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards bring together some of the county's best businesses and business owners each year, recognising achievement, ambition, and the impact local companies have on their communities.

Being shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year put Alexandra among a genuinely strong field of nominees, and while she didn't take home the top prize, a Commended award in a category with that level of competition is something we're incredibly proud of.

Awards like this aren't just about a single evening. They're a reflection of years of work, decisions made, risks taken, and standards held onto even when it would have been easier not to.

Alexandra founded Powell Design & Construction with a clear vision: a business that brings design and construction together under one roof, genuinely listens to what clients need, and never compromises on quality to hit a deadline or a budget. Being recognised at a county-wide level for that approach is a strong validation of the way we work, not just for Alexandra, but for the whole team who deliver on that vision every day.

It also reflects everything Alexandra puts into the wider community, beyond Powell Design & Constrcution itself.

From mentoring within the construction industry, to supporting education settings and getting the next generation excited about careers in construction, her work extends well past the day-to-day running of the business.

For anyone considering working with a design or build team, recognition like this should matter. It's independent recognition from a respected local business body, not something we say about ourselves, but something the wider Staffordshire business community has acknowledged.

It sits alongside other recent milestones, including Alexandra's election onto the Federation of Master Builders Central Board, as part of a bigger picture: a business that's genuinely respected, both by the industry we work in and the community we work within.
